Essential Epoxy installs full-flake epoxy garage floors across Sydney from our base in Woodbine. Every floor is diamond ground back to sound concrete, cracks are cut out and filled, and flake is broadcast to full coverage before a clear, UV-stable topcoat goes on. Most single and double garages take two to three days on site. The inspection and written quote are free.
A garage floor is only as strong as the concrete underneath it. Most of the work happens before any colour goes down.
The whole slab is ground with diamond tooling, and the edges by hand grinder. This removes the weak surface layer, old sealer and surface oil, and opens the concrete so the base coat bonds into it.
Cracks are cut open with a diamond blade and filled. Chips and salt pits are patched and ground flush so they don't show through the finish.
A two-part epoxy base coat, tinted to suit your flake blend, is rolled across the full floor.
Flakes are thrown into the wet base coat until none of it shows. Full coverage hides dust and tyre marks, and gives the floor light texture underfoot.
Once the base has cured, loose flake is scraped back and vacuumed so the surface is even.
A clear topcoat seals the flake and takes the wear from tyres, oil and cleaning. It won't yellow in afternoon sun through the roller door. Anti-slip grit can be added if water gets tracked in.

Not when the slab has been diamond ground and the floor has a proper topcoat. Hot tyre pickup usually comes from thin coatings, poor preparation, or oil and tyre-shine residue left on the slab.
The topcoat resists common garage fluids, so spills wipe up. Clean them when you notice them, because anything left sitting for days can mark the surface.
Yes. The floor has to be completely clear for grinding and coating. Shelving fixed to the wall can usually stay.
The flake gives light texture, so it has more grip than a smooth gloss floor. If water gets tracked in often, we can add anti-slip grit to the topcoat.
Yes, flake floors suit both. Use rubber mats under weights, jack stands and heavy equipment to protect the surface from impact.
